Stoney is a fortune-telling App that provides users with fun, easy-to-get all-day predictions for all important areas of their life.

My role and contribution:

I was the UI/UX designer in a team of two.

Apart from the joint research, wireframing, visual design, prototyping and user testing, I'm in charge of the initial survey and interview conducting, storyboard drawing, 3D modelling and animation using Blender.

Background：

As an activity that roots back to old times and is based on magical thinking and superstition, fortune-telling and how it works raises many critical questions. The prediction results often lack evidence to support them: Horoscopes, for example, are often general enough to apply to anyone.

Nevertheless, it is still such a worldwide popular activity, especially among the young generation.

Why? People who enjoy fortune telling don't usually believe in it; very often they are just looking for mental comfort, a topic opener or perhaps just to have fun.

Goal:

Stoney gives users their real-time fortune predictions on their mobile phone and smartwatch which will affect people who don’t 100% believe in fortune-telling but want to be entertained and mental comfort by giving users fun, easy to read and always-positive results without spending too much time.
